[embedded content]

As the release of Google Glass draws near, the tech giant is rolling out a host of advertisements to showcase the wealth of possibilities that comes with its newest toy. This time around, music and sound is front and center.

We follow L.A. producer Young Guru through the motions of his day as a “Glass Explorer.” Guru is able to record audio, listen to and identify a song à la Shazam, and translate some Spanish all from the comfort of his eyeball.

There’s no way of knowing how this image-based technology will play out once it hits the market, but unless Google Glass has some music-specific features we haven’t heard about yet, it seems more like a sound-collection tool than the next step forward in music production.
